How to make a flower using the pen tool, and point to point, bezier curves

This tutorial shows you how to make a flower using the pen tool, and point to point bezier curves.

Open a new image 500x500. With foreground null, and background #9b1034,
click on the pen tool, and choose bezier curves from the top toolbar, width 2.
Click and drag downwards, and a line will appear, with a central square. Unclick the mouse button. Now click and hold on the
square, and drag outwards and upwards, until you achieve a petal shape, then let go of the mouse button. Try and make a slim petal.
Convert to raster layer.

Centralise the petal, and duplicate. Go to image and flip, image mirror. You should have a propellor shape.
X out raster layer 1, and merge visible. Duplicate and mirror. Duplicate again, and image, free rotate
90 degree right. You should now have a flower shape. Merge visible.

Duplicate again, and image, resize by 80%, place this dead centre. Merge visible.

With the ellipse tool, make a small circle for the centre of the flower, and convert to raster layer.
Inner bevel with these settings :

Add a texture to your flower. I used Effects, texture effects, texture, and long grain. Drop shadow
as follows:

H=0
V=0
O=60
B=4
Col=black

For the second flower, duplicate, image, free rotate 11 degrees left, and image flip, then centralise.
Merge visible.

Save as a PNG file.

There you have it, 2 pretty flowers for your tags, made all by yourself!
